NDA Foundation Course
What is the NDA Foundation Course?
The NDA Foundation Course is an NDA Entrance Test preparation programme in which students prepare for the National Defence Academy (NDA) entrance test with their Class 11 and Class 12 programs.
Who can join the course?
Those students who have appeared/passed their class 10 exam and moving to class 11th or those students who have cleared Class 11 and moving to Class 12 can join the NDA Foundation Course.
How does the NDA Foundation Course work?
To understand the NDA Foundation Course one first of all need to understand the NDA Entrance Test.
The entrance test for NDA or National Defence Academy and Naval Academy is conducted twice a year in April and September with the name NDA-I and NDA-II respectively.
The exam is taken in three phases:
1. Written Test conducted by UPSC
2. SSB Interviews conducted by different SSB Boards and
3. Medical Test
If we take a Written Test Conducted by UPSC or Union Public Service Commission. It is divided into two papers:
1. Mathematics:
In the mathematics paper the questions come generally from the syllabus of classes 11 and 12. However, only the coverage of class 11 and 12 NCERT is not sufficient to clear the paper. The standard of the paper is increasing after each exam. One needs to cover broader aspects to clear the paper of Mathematics.
2. General Ability Test:
When it comes to the General ability test, the paper can be divided into three sub-sections.
English:
In this section, 50 questions are asked, which are generally based on the understanding of the students. Vocabulary and sentence rearrangements are some of the topics which are asked in this section.
General Knowledge:
This section consists of History, Geography, and Current Affairs. This is a very broad section and extensive coverage may lead to the wastage of valuable time. So, this section required proper identification of chapters and selective study.
General Science:
The General Science section consists of Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The questions are very general but require smart preparation.
